Mission to Guatemala
Barbara M. Rubin travelled to Guatemala as the guest of CARE and eWomenNetwork. The purpose of the trip was to encourage cultural and economic exchanges between American and Guatemalan business women.

David Tenzer was a panelist on Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel (AMEC) panels in Los Angeles and New York in June and July. The panels covered Television in the BRIC Countries—Tenzer offered up expertise on business in India.

Barbara M. Rubin and Jody Simon served as moderators and Gary Raskin as MC at a seminar titled Surviving the Television Reality Game presented by the Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel and RPR&S. The panel addressed production challenges of reality shows. Jody Simon went on to moderate the same seminar in New York.

Advertising Roundtable
Arnold Peter participated in a roundtable dinner with top advertising executives featuring John Nogawski, President and COO of CBS Television Distribution and Trevor Kaufman, CEO of Schematic. Topics covered included: Are traditional media companies creating the best advertising platforms in the digital world? Are advertisers getting enough “bang for their buck” in both traditional and new media advertising channels? How effective are the new media channels and how can they be measured?
Ethical Debate
Arnold Peter moderated a panel on ethical concerns for in-house counsel at the 2007 National Asian Pacific Bar Association’s annual conference. Panellists included the general counsel of BBC America and senior counsel from the University of Southern California.

eWomen Network Welcomes Barbara Rubin
Barbara Rubin was invited to be a member of the Advisory Council of eWomen Network Foundation. The Foundation awards grants to small non-profits whose mission includes improving the emotional and financial well-being of women and children. Sara Rea a Runway Sensation
Jody Simon’s client Sara Rea was tagged by Lifetime to be the executive producer of the first season of Project Runway produced for that network by Bunim-Murray Productions. The show is completing production and scheduled for air in early 2009.
